How to Repair a Dented Garage Door

Using a Hammer with a Mallet
Just use the hammer with a rubber mallet to fix the dent; it’s a minor one. However, the hammer might not work for the deeper dents.
You should first give the dent a few light taps with the mallet. In the event of a slight dent, this should be enough to pop it out. In case of a more severe dent, you may need to tap more forcefully or use a chisel. By pounding at the dent after you have made a little indentation, you can remove the dent completely. You may have to be patient, as it may take a while.
Filling the dent with Bondo
With a clean rag, wipe away dirt, dust, and debris from the area surrounding the dent. Due to this, the adhesive will stick better to the garage door.
Using a putty knife, apply a thick coat of Bondo to the dent. Be careful to smooth out the Bando so that it is level with the rest of the garage door. After 24 hours, dry the Bondo.
To level the Bondo, sand it with sandpaper. Sandpaper with fine grit should be used to prevent damaging the door.
Use a primer to prepare the area around the Bondo. After the Bondo has dried, cover it with paint that complements the color of your garage door. It is recommended to let the garage door dry for at least 24 hours before using it.
